MAYO SOLD!!!

 MAYO SOLD!!! It has come to light that Bafana Bafana international and Cape Town City striker Khanyisa Mayo has completed a move away from the citizens to North Africa.  The Bafana Bafana star has been on the radar of Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs locally. It was said by the club's chairman and CEO John Comitis that he will be looking to hear for offers for Mayo starting from over R30m because he believe that is what he is worth and also their main focus was to sell Mayo abroad.  It seems Chiefs and Downs were not ready to break their banks for mayo. It remain disclosed how much the North American club paid in transfer fees for Mayo but will surely be over the R30m mark. DONDOL SOLD!!!

 DONDOL SOLD!!! ABC Motsepe League side confirmed that they have sold their status. The club's chairman confirmed that they sold their status due to being frustrated and now tired of not being able to secure promotion to second tier of South African Football in being the Motsepe Foundation Championship  Dondol stars have been coming in short when they play in the national play-off they have participated in . With them having defeated Supersport United and Amazulu in the nedbank round of 32 and 16 respectively ,many thought stars would take their Nedbank cup form to the ABC Motsepe League and subsequently win the play-off but that hasn't been the case.   MTN8 PRIZE INCREASE!!! It has been confirmed that the MTN8 prize money will be increased from R8m to R10m with the participation fee moving from R 800 000 to R1m. It is an MTN8 norm and tradition that teams that get knocked out in the quarter finals ,semi finals and even the team that reached the final were getting the same amount of R 800 000 but will now get an improved cool R1m with the winner walking away with a jaw dropping R10m. MBAPPE BUYS OWN CLUB!!!! Real Madrid and French winger Kylian Mbappe has successfully purchase majority shares of a football club campaigning in second tier professional Ligue 2 in his home country France SM Caen. Mbappe becomes one of a few footballers who gets to own football clubs while still playing professional and also under the age of 25. MATULUDI NEXT MOVE?

MATULUDI NEXT MOVE? Polokwane City FC in form right back Thabang Matuludi has been 1 of their best performing players in the past few seasons since he has been with the club. His performance for the past season earned him a Bafana Bafana national team call-up by coach Helman Mkhalele which he debuted in the Cosafa Cup tournament that took place last month in the Eastern Cape province. Matuludi was signed in the 2021/22 season by City from The Dolphins FC and has since went on to make over 80 appearances for City. It has been reported that Orlando Pirates are after his service. Pirates right back position have though competition with the club having pacey Thabiso Lebitso who was signed in the January transfer window from Chippa United, Thabiso Monyane and also Bandile Shandu. The R100 million cash injection will be split into 4 ways , with R60 million being split into 3 ways which will be R20 million per season then the remaining R40 million will be used to build Bays training facilities. Many teams complain about not having sponsors as the main reason for their downfalls. GALLAGHER TO ATLETICO? Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has attracted interest from LaLiga giants Atletico Madrid. The 24 year old midfielder captained his team for most parts of last season as the club's captain Reece James was sidelined due to injuries. Gallagher will be entering his final year in his Chelsea contract . He is currently valued at £50m and his boyhood club could cash in on this move should they decide not give him a contract extension. Atletico Madrid aren't the only teams after Gallagher's services as Tottenham Hotspur and West ham United have shown interest in him but he is more likely to join Atletico. KERR RESIGNS AT GALLANTS:  English born coach Dylan Kerr was appointed head coach by Marumo Gallants in the past few weeks after they purchased the top flight status of Moroka Swallows who struggled to keep the team financially afloat has now shockingly resigned as their head coach before the season even kicks off.  It has been reported that Marumo Gallants Chairman was intending to bring 2 extra co-coaches to work alongside Kerr but the English man wasn't happy with the decision which led him to resign at the club. BETHUEL MUZEU TO WAIT AT LEOPARDS: Red hot Black Leopards fc striker Bethuel Muzeu has been with the Limpopo side in the Motsepe Foundation Championship for the past 2 seasons after being signed from Namibian side Tura Magic fc in July 2022. The Namibian international suffered relegation to the ABC Motsepe League with Leopards in 2022/23 season but his side Leopards bought the status of the now-defunt All Stars fc to campaign  in the 2023/24 season. Muzeu became Leopards' main man in terms of scoring goals for the past 2 seasons ,even in his first season there were teams in DSTV Premiership(Now Betway Premiership) vying for his services but no solid offers were accepted by the Limpopo side. The 2024/25 MTN8 KICKS OFF: Betway Premiership teams came back from a lengthy FIFA international break which saw European teams competing in UEFA  Euros (which saw Spain lifting the trophy after defeating England in the final) and Copa America respectively (which was won by Argentina after beating Colombia to lift the trophy) On the other side of Africa in the Southern region notable teams Such as Mamelodi Sundowns , Orlando Pirates and TS Galaxy had stellar pre-season performances.  Soweto Giants Orlando Pirates were a team that had better pre-season performances from which they recorded a 2-2 draw against EFL championship side Plymouth Argyle ,a shocking 2-0 win against LaLiga side Sevilla, 1-1 draw against Granada which also plays in LaLiga then suffered a 3-2 loss Qatari side Al Sadd in their   final pre-season match. ERWIN SAARVEDRA RETURNS TO CHLOORKOP: Bolivian striker Erwin Saarvedra will be heading back to Mamelodi Sundowns after spending a six month-long loan move in his home country at Club Bolivar. During his ruturn in the colours of a team where he made a name for himself, he found his form again which led to his parent club Sundowns recalling him to join the team ahead of the new 2024/25 Betway Premiership season. Many had written Saarvedra off and thought he was not Sundowns Material as he struggled to impress his then coach Rhulani Mokwena who is now in the books of Wydad Casablanca ,but his current form got downs to think twice about the Bolivian. NTWARI & DORTLEY TO WAIT FOR CHIEFS DEBUTS: Newly signed Goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari and versatile defender Roshwin Dortley were announced by amakhosi hours before they faced off with Young Africans in the Toyota Cup at the Toyota stadium Yesterday in Bloemfontein. Ntwari made a name for himself in his home country in Rwanda where he played for AS Kigali before he joined TS Galaxy fc last season. His stellar performance for the rockets is what caught chiefs' attention. Dortley on the other hand came through the ranks of Ajax Cape Town (now Cape Town Spurs) where he made his professional debut for them in 2020 . CHIEFS SUFFER HEAVY DEFEAT AGAINST YOUNG AFRICANS

Many thought the appointment of highly rated former coach of Young Africans Nasredine Nabi will bring immediate good results that will bring smiles to the fans and supporters of the glamour boys ,but the Young Africans team had other ideas when they hammered Kaizer Chiefs 4-0 in the inaugural Toyota Cup at the Toyota stadium on Sunday 28 July 2024. Chiefs started well with Ranga Chivaviro making touches in the opponent's box ,youngster Mduduzi Shabalala showing prowess of his skills , their new signing Nkosana Mbuthu showing glimpse of hope under the first 40 minutes of his Chiefs debut but his mistakes proved to be the danger for his team which led to Young Africans putting the ball in the back of the net.  Chiefs faithfuls will be hoping that coach Nasredine Nabi and co will turn the table around in the new upcoming season .Will he bring the glory days at Naturena?
