MANCHESTER CITY AND INTER MILAN ELIMINATED FROM CLUB WORLD CUP! The current ongoing FIFA Club World Cup has seen it's first two upsets with English Premier League  giants Manchester City and Italian Serie-A giants Inter Milan being eliminated from the tournament last night and earlier on today.  The first upset started with Inter Milan losing 2-0 against Brazilian Serie-A side Fluminense then Manchester City followed with a 4-3 loss against Saudi Arabia giants Al-Hilal this morning.  Fluminense and Al-Hilal will now face each other in the quarterfinals after defeating Man City and Milan.  The last batch of the round of 16 matches will see Real Madrid be up against Juventus tonight at the Hard Rock stadium then followed by Borussia Dortmund and CF Monterrey encounter tomorrow morning at the Mercedes Benz stadium. SIMO DLADLA UNVEILED AS AN ASSISTANT COACH BY AMAZULU! Amazulu FC have unveiled former Durban City FC head coach Simo Dladla as their new assistant coach reporting to head coach Arthur Zwane. Usuthu were looking for someone to work with coach Arthur Zwane for months since Vusimuzi Vilakazi ditched his co-coach position at the club.  Usuthu have now landed Dladla who was fired a few days ago by Durban City FC whom he managed to push back in to the Betway Premier League.  A statement released by Amazulu earlier on today announcing the arrival of Dladla is written as follows:

Having already been relegated from the Betway Premier League, Cape Town City FC finished off their promotion/relegation play-offs with another disappointing draw at home after settling for a 1-1 draw against Casric Star at the DHL stadium today.  This was City's third draw in play-offs. Both Casric Stars and City finish the play-offs with 3 points a piece while the promoted Orbit College FC finished with 8 points.  Cape Town City FC will be plying their trade in the Motsepe Foundation Championship next season unless they purchase a top flight status just like the chairman of their club John Comitis is planning to. The Motsepe Foundation Championship will have 4 new teams next season with City being the first team then the 3 new teams from the ABC Motsepe League to fill in the gaps for Leruma United, Cape Town Spurs and Royal AM. NYAUZA TO RETIRE IF NO TEAM SIGNS HIM NEXT SEASON! Former Orlando Pirates defender Ntsikelelo Nyauza has been out of action for the rest of the 2025/26 season due to being clubless and many were wondering what had happened to him. SoccerLaduma had an interview with the 35-year old as he disclosed what has he been up to. Nyauza began his playing career in 2011 signing for the now-defunct Platinum Stars and spent 2 and half years with them. Stars released him in 2013 and he got snatch by another defunct club Roses United. He spent 5 months at Roses before being signed by Pirates in 2014. His journey with the Buccaneers tendered from 2014 until 2022 where he got signed by Richards Bay FC. His stay at Richards Bay lasted from 2022 to 2023. After his stint with the Natal Rich Boys, He went 7 months without a club then got signed by the extinct Moroka Swallows early last year. Lionel Messi and Inter Miami's journey in the current FIFA Club World Cup tournament came to an end after being thrashed by UEFA Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain earlier on today at the Mercedes Benz stadium.  The match ended with a 4-0 scoreline with the goals being scored by Joao Neves (Brace) Achraf Hakimi and Tomas Aviles (Own goal). The English under-21 national team defeated the German under-21 national team with a 3-2 scoreline last night at the Tehelne Pole stadium to be crowned the UEFA European Under-21 Championship winners of this year. For the English side, The goals were scored by Harvey Elliot, Omari Hutchinson and Jonathan Rowe. The German side got their goals from Nelson Weiper and Paul Nebel. The young Lions have now won the title back to back having won it already in 2023. Players from both sides will be heading to their parent clubs as they will be preparing for the 2025/26 season. NDLONDLO ON HIS WAY TO CHIPPA! Chippa United are wrapping up a deal to sign midfielder Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo from Orlando Pirates. The 30-year old midfielder's future at Pirates is under threat with the new signings made by the Soweto club this week. The Buccaneers welcomed 8 signing which has the likes of Sipho Mbule, Sihle Nduli, Tshepang Moremi, Sinoxolo Kwayiba, Yanela Mbuthuma, Nkosikhona Ndaba, Masindi Nemtanjela and Tshepo Mashiloane. Chippa on the other hand made mass players clearing shipping out a total of 18 players which included big name players such as Andile Jali, Craig Martin and Justice Chabalala to name a few. The Eastern Cape side also has a new technical team with Sinethemba Badela named the head coach and Musa Nyatama as the assistant coach. ATALANTA SIGN KAMALDEEN SULEMANA FROM SOUTHAMPTON! Italian Serie-A club Atalanta BC have completed the signing of winger Kamaldeen Sulemana from Southampton on a €17.5m transfer + €4m add-ons ahead of the new season. Southampton will have a 15% sell-on clause after the sale of Sulemana meaning the Saints will cash-in on any future sale of the 23-year old Ghanaian player. The Saints are losing a lot of key players after their relegation to the EFL Championship. Their goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale might also be on his way out with teams in the English Premier League looking for his services. OWEN GA GAMA'S NEXT DESTINATION? It has been rumoured that Magesi FC and their head Owen Da Gama have mutually agreed to part ways as both parties were unable to reach an agreement on new terms ahead of the new season.  Magesi were ditched by their former coach Clinton Larsen last year after delivering the team to the top flight for the first team in their history and won a major trophy in their history and debut season after beating Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 in the Carling Cup final. The departure of Larsen saw Magesi being led by now assistant coach of Richards Bay FC Papi Zothwane for while until Da Gama arrived. Da Gama joined Magesi this year from ABC Motsepe League side Vondwe Bullets XI and managed to save the Limpopo side from relegation. CAPE TOWN TEAMS WANT TO PURCHASE PSL STATUSES! The 2024/25 season was a bad one for the Western Cape province as it had two of their big teams relegated from the first and second tier. Cape Town City FC and Cape Town Spurs both suffered relegation from their respective leagues in their 2024/25  season. Spurs were the most unfortunate side suffering their consecutive relegation having been relegated from the Betway Premier League to the Motsepe Foundation Championship in the 2023/24 season then from Motsepe Foundation Championship to the ABC Motsepe League last season. City on the other hand suffered relegation for the first time in their history this week losing out in the promotion/relegation play-offs to Orbit College FC.  With City and Spurs relegated, They are both trying to get back where they were last season as they are planning to purchase their way back. OLIVIER GIROUD RELEASED BY LAFC! Major League Soccer club Los Angeles FC and former Chelsea, Arsenal and AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud have decided to part ways prematurely. Giroud joined the American side in July last year on a free transfer after his contract at AC Milan expired and was supposed to be with LAFC until December this year. The former French international struggled for game time at the MLS side which saw him playing just 18 matches across all competitions so far which is the contributing factor for his departure.  Giroud will play his final match with LAFC tomorrow, June 29, when the Black & Gold take on Vancouver at BMO Stadium at 6:30 pm PT. RUUD VAN NISTELROOY SACKED BY LEICESTER!  Just like we as Gatti Sports Reports SA had reported a few months ago that Leicester City FC would not be keeping former Manchester United caretaker coach Ruud van Nistelrooy following their relegation to the EFL Championship, Leicester confirmed that they have parted ways with van Nistelrooy. The 48-year old coach joined Leicester in December last year and took charge of 27 matches but wasn't able to save the Premier League status of the club.  A short statement was published by Leicester City FC earlier on today announcing the departure of van Nistelrooy and it's written as follows: "Leicester City Football Club and Ruud van Nistelrooy have mutually agreed that Ruud’s contract with the Club as First Team Manager will terminate with immediate effect."

PAUL ONUACHU JOINS TURKISH CLUB FROM SOUTHAMPTON! Southampton FC has announced that their striker Paul Onuachu has completed a move to Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor ahead of the 2025/26 season. Since the Saints have been relegated from the English Premier League at the end of last season, They've decided to let the Nigerian international join a club that is going to fulfill his financial needs and wants and Trabzanspor is one of those teams that can match what Onuachu is looking for. Onuachu is no stranger to the Turkish League having been with the same club (Trabzonspor) on loan in the 2023/24 season. French Ligue 1 side RC Lens and former Leicester City FC midfielder Nampalys Mendy have parted ways with the Senegalese international's contract expiring next week.  Mendy signed for Lens on a free transfer in September 2023 and penned a 2-year deal with the French side. His tenure at Lens didn't yield the performance that was going to have him rewarded with an extension which sees him leaving the club.  The 33-year old might head to the Saudi Pro League, Major League Soccer or the Botola Pro League with teams in those leagues lining up for his signature. Having been released by Motsepe Foundation Championship side Upington City FC, Coach Brandon Truter is set to join another Championship side in Kruger United FC as a Technical Director according to FARPost.  Truter's second stint at Upington City after being sacked by Richards Bay FC in the Betway Premier League didn't see the club (City) performing well in the second half of the season. The Northern Cape side were part of the teams that were battling relegation and narrowly survived.  Kruger on the other hand missed out on the Premier Soccer League promotion play-off spot. Arsenal has tied 18-year old defender Myle Lewis-Skelly to a new long-term contract which will see his stay reaching June 2030 with the Mikel Arteta coached side. Lewis-Skelly was promoted to first team at the beginning of last season and his debut season saw him playing 42 matches across all competitions with a goal and 3 assists. In just 1 season, Lewis-Skelly's market value has sky rocketed to currently being at €45M which place him as one of the most expensive teenagers. ALVARO MORATA AGREES TO A MOVE TO SERIE-A NEWBIES! AC Milan striker Álvaro Morata has agreed to complete a move to Italian Serie-A newbies Como 1907 ahead of the new season as talks are underway for return to Italy pre-maturely from his loan move from Turkish side Galatasaray.  Morata signed for AC Milan in July last year from Spanish side Atletico Madrid on a €13M transfer and signed a four year deal with the Italian club. He struggled for game time at Milan which saw him completing a loan move in February to Galatasaray after the Turkish club paid €6M for his services. SAFA CHANGE VENUES FOR ABC MOTSEPE LEAGUE PLAY-OFFS! The South African Football Association has changed the venues for the 2024/25 ABC Motsepe League National play-offs which were first meant to take place in Ekurhuleni at the Tsakane stadium from the 1st of July to the 6th of July. The City of Tshwane (Pretoria) has now been given the honours of hosting the National play-offs. Soshanguve Giant stadium and the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe stadium will be the two stadium to be used for the play-offs. SUNDOWNS ELIMINATED FROM THE CLUB WORLD CUP! Betway Premier League champions Mamelodi Sundowns got eliminated from the FIFA Club World Cup after playing a 0-0 draw in their final match of the group stage against Brazilian Serie-A side Fluminense last night at the Hard Rock stadium.  Borussia Dortmund and Fluminense progressed as they finished first and second place. Dortmund finished first with 7 points after their victory against South Korean side Ulsan HD while Fluminense finish the group in second with 5 points.  Sundowns finished in third with 4 points while Ulsan did not manage to collect any points. Cape Town City were relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship after losing their match day 3 of the Premier Soccer League promotional/relegation play-offs against Orbit College FC earlier on today at the Olympia Park stadium. The match ended with 1-0 scoreline courtesy of a goal scored by former Marumo Gallants striker Letsie Koapeng in the second half to see Orbit gain promotion to the Betway Premier League joining Durban City FC. Orbit finished the mini-log standings with 8 points after 4 matches while City have a chance to finish the play-offs with 5 points going into the last play-offs encounter against Casric Stars this coming Saturday at the DHL stadium. PARIS FC SIGN FIRST PLAYERS AFTER PROMOTION TO LIGUE 1! Having secured promotion to the French Ligue 1 after finishing second in the French Ligue 2 with 69 points, Paris FC have made their first signings of the 2025/26 French Ligue 1 season. They signed Moses Simon on 3-year deal from FC Nantes and Nhoa Sangui on a 5-year deal from Stade Reims. The amount paid by Paris for the above mentioned players equals to €12M as Simon got signed for €7M while Sangui got signed for €5M. Before signing Simon and Sangui, Paris had promoted Aymerick Bering, Kamil El Kit, Anis Fatahine, Zakarya Khaldi from their development team at the beginning of the month. Motsepe Foundation Championship side Upington City FC took to their social media platforms earlier on today to announce that they have appointed Abram Mongoya as their new head coach for the new season. Mongoya joins City from Championship newbies Kruger United FC where he had a stellar season and narrowly missed out on a PSL promotional play-off spot.  Mangoya will replace Former Swallows and Amazulu FC head coach Brandon Truter who had returned to the Northern Cape side for his second stint after having a botched short-term stint with Richards Bay FC in the Betway Premier League last season. Chippa United are set to make their second and third signings of the 2025/26 season as they look to raid Richards Bay FC for the services strikers Thabiso Kutumela and Justice Figuareido according to FARPost . PIRATES SNATCH SIPHO MBULE ON A FREE TRANSFER! Orlando Pirates have snatched midfielder Sipho Mbule as he join the Buccaneers on a free transfer after being released by Mamelodi Sundowns at the beginning of this month with his contract set to expire next week.  Mbule spent 7 months of last season at Sekhukhune United on loan but was released due to disciplinary issues. He spent 2 full season at Chloorkop winning 4 major trophies with Masandawana.  The 27-year old was rumoured to be on the radar of Kaizer Chiefs but their arch-rivals Pirates have now won his services.  Pirates have so far signed a total of 8 players with Mbule included in that number. Tshepang Moremi, Yanela Mbuthuma, Sinxolo Kwayiba, Masindi Nemyanjela, Nkosikhona Ndaba, Tshepo Mashiloane and Kabelo Kgositsile are some of the players signed by the Soweto giants.
