PIRATES & CITY HOLD STALEMATE WHILE STELLIES BEAT DOWNS!

The first leg of the 2024/25 season MTN8 semi-finals was opened by Cape Town City vs the tournament's defending champions Orlando Pirates at the DHL stadium earlier on today.

The game was supposed to have been played yesterday but it was postponed to today due to bad weather in the Western Cape.

Pirates and City recorded a 1-1 draw in the first leg with goals coming from Relebohile Mofokeng and Jadon Rhodes.

The second leg will be played this coming Saturday at the Orlando stadium to see who will advance to the final.

On the other hand Stellenbosch FC pulled a shocker as they stunned Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe stadium earlier on today with the goal scored by Fawaaz Basadien.

The second leg will be played at Moses Mabhida stadium this upcoming Sunday. Both Pirates and Stellies have an advantage as they managed to score a goal away from home.
