CAN CHIEFS STUN SUNDOWNS AT FNB?

Kaizer Chiefs are set to host the defending league champions Mamelodi Sundowns tomorrow at the FNB stadium for these side's first meeting of the season.


Both clubs have won their opening 2 league matches and are level on points with 6 on the log. 


The clubs are under new management with Chiefs appointing former Young African SC coach Nasredine Nabi and Mamelodi Sundowns being led by coach Manqoba Mngqithi who stepped up after coach Rhulani Mokwena left Sundowns for Wydad Casablanca.


Kaizer Chiefs new players are starting to look more dangerous. The setting up of new recruits Inacio Miguel, Roshwin Dortley and Bradley Cross in defence was excellent for Chiefs' previous 2 games. Cross scooped 2 man of the match awards for the 2 league matches he played.


St Louis City SC loanee Njabulo Blom was a bit rusty in the midfield and didn't give his known best performance.


Former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Gaston Sirino has been a lively force for Chiefs lately and he scored the second goal for Chiefs on Wednesday against Amazulu which was his first goal for the club. Will his haunt his former side tomorrow?


Mamelodi Sundowns are also smooth sailing without their big name players Themba Zwane, Teboho Mokoena and Khuliso Mudau. Manqoba Mngqithi dropped Mudau, Zwane and Mokoena for Sundowns' previous 4 games and the team has performed well in the games they've played.


It remains a big question if Mngqithi will use Zwane, Mokoena and Mudau for tomorrow's encounter against Chiefs.


Will the new look Kaizer Chiefs beat the new look Mamelodi Sundowns? Will it be the other way around or will the points be shared amongst the 2 teams?


The match is scheduled to kickoff at 15h00 SAT.
