Real Madrid were en route to a first 2024/25 season Madrid derby win but Atletico Madrid scored a late goal to salvage a point with a 1-1 scoreline recorded at home yesterday.

Regardless of yesterday's results, both Madrid teams never moved from their places in the league standings.

Real Madrid remained on second place with 18 points from 8 matches while Atletico Madrid remained in third place with 16 points from 8 matches.

Eder Militao and Àngel Correa were on the scoresheet for their respective clubs.

Atletico Madrid were handed a late blow with Marcos Llorente being sent off after receiving a red card for a challenge made on Fran Garcia in the 90+9 added minutes.
