Following their 2-0 loss to Lamontville Golden Arrows in their opening Betway Premier League match a few weeks back, The Cape troops have redeemed themselves with a 3-0 win over Cape Town City at the Athlone stadium last night.

Andre de Jong, Fawaaz Basadien and Sanele Barns secured the points for Stellies in their first home league match.

Coach Steve Barker and his team had an impressive 2023/24 season where they won their first major trophy and also qualified for the CAF Confederations Cup for the first time after finishing third on the league.

This season, They are also doing well having made it to the CAF Confederations Cup group stages and are also set to play a second successive cup final where they'll be up against Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 next month.
