Orlando Pirates captain Innocent Maela made history in his club's MTN8 triumph last night.


Pirates defeated Stellenbosch FC 3-1 last night in the tournament's final to make it 3 times in a row.


Innocent Maela became the first Pirates captain to lift the MTN8 trophy in 3 successive occasions. Maela took his overall trophy collection at Pirates to 6 , He added 1 to his 3 MTN8 titles and combined with 2 Nedbank titles.


Maela has been at the club for over 10 years having joined the club's academy in 2012. He has racked over 200 appearance for Pirates since returning from his loan spell at Thanda Royal Zulu in 2016.
