Polokwane City defeated the defending league champions Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 earlier on today at the Old Peter Mokaba stadium in a Betway Premier League encounter.

City captain Bulelani Nikani scored his second goal of the league after tapping in Denis Onyango's goal from Cole Alexander's cross.
