Stellenbosch FC needed a narrow 1-0 win to move to 4th on the league standings after defeating newcomers Marumo Gallants earlier on at the Cape Town stadium.

Thabo Moloisane was the man who broke the hearts of the Bloemfontein based outfit.

Stellies removed Sekhukhune United who were in 4th when today's encounter kicked off. The Western Cape side is now on 11 points collected from 6 league matches.

With today's loss, Gallants remained 14th on the log with 4 points collected from 6 league matches.

Both teams will meet again on Sunday for the Carling Knockout Cup quarter final fixture which will be played at the Dr Petrus Molemela stadium.
