Cape Town Spurs head coach Ernst Middendorp has been under the spotlight for quite some time now. Spurs have been struggling to keep up in the Motsepe Foundation Championship since their return from the Betway Premier League at the start of this current campaign.

Since being relegated to the second tier of South African football, Spurs have lost 3 quality players. Defender Roshwin Dortley to Kaizer Chiefs, Midfielder Chumani Butsana and Striker Ashley Cupido to cross town rivals Stellenbosch FC. Their now red hot captain Asanele Velebayi is also a wanted man by Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates and might leave the club too should a good offer come in for him.

The Ernst Middendorp side hasn't been able to produce good results and find themselves in 14th position of the Motsepe Foundation Championship log with 10 points from 11 leagues matches.

Many are now wondering how much time is Spurs willing to give Middendorp to produce the desired results?
