English Premier League returnees Leicester City have sacked head coach Steve Cooper and his technical team.
The former Nottingham Forest coach guided Leicester back to the Premier League after being relegated back in the 2022/23 season. His return to the top flight saw him not producing the results wanted by the club. Leicester have only won 2 games, Drew 4 and lost 6. They are currently in 16th position with 10 points from 12 league matches.
Ben Dawson, Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes will take charge of the first team on a temporary basis until the club finds a new coach and technical team.
A statement released by Leicester City earlier on today is written as follows:
"Leicester City Football Club has parted company with Steve Cooper, who leaves his position as First Team Manager with immediate effect."
"Assistant Manager Alan Tate and First Team Coach and Analyst Steve Rands have also left the Club. Steve, Alan and Steve depart with our thanks for their contribution during their time with the Club and with our best wishes for the future."
"Men’s First Team training will be overseen by First Team Coach Ben Dawson, supported by coaches Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes, as the Club begins the process of appointing a new manager, which we hope to conclude as soon as possible."
