English Premier League side Liverpool FC finally got their revenge over Spanish LaLiga side Real Madrid after beating them 2-0 in the Champions League yesterday at Anfield.

Before yesterday's encounter, Real Madrid had gone 8 matches without a defeat against Liverpool having won 7 and drawing 1.

Alexis Mac Alister and Cody Gakpo were the scorers of the day.

Liverpool also became the first team in the new UEFA Champions League set-up to qualify for the knockout stages as they've won all 5 matches of this season's Champions League.

Real Madrid are now skating on thin ice as they face a possibility of being eliminated.
