MAGESI BEAT SUNDOWNS TO LIFT THE CARLING KNOCKOUT CUP!

League debutants Magesi FC shocked the South African football fraternity as they clinched their first ever top flight trophy after defeating Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 at the Toyota stadium today.

Heroes of the day were Tshepo Kakora and Delano Abrahams for Magesi with them netting the 2 goals. Iqraam Rayners was the scorer for Sundowns.

Magesi coach Clinton Larsen completed a cup double over Sundowns as he had previously defeated them in 2012 when he was still the head coach of Bloemfontein Celtic.

The name Magesi FC will forever be in the history books of South African football as they managed to reach and win a cup final in their debut season.
