SUNDOWNS HELD BY DRC SIDE!

Mamelodi Sundowns were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Democratic Republic of Congo side Maniema Union in a CAF Champions League first match of the group stage played at Loftus Versfield today.


Sundown failed to redeem themselves having came from a shocking Carling Knockout Cup final loss to league newbies Magesi FC where they were humiliated with a 2-1 scoreline.


The South African side started the like of former Moreirense player Kobamelo Kodisang, Loan returnee Erwin Saaverdra, The most expensive foreign player in SA Arthur Sales and DDC graduate Malibongwe Khoza.


Coach Manqoba Mngqithi and his technical team will have to go back to the drawing board and try to find a solution ahead of the Betway Premier League match against Sekhukhune United at Loftus Versfield this coming Saturday.
