Orlando Pirates will be heading in today's Betway Premier League encounter infuriated looking to avenge themselves from the October Carling Knockout Cup embarrassment they suffered in the hands of Magesi FC.

Magesi opened their major trophy embankment with a heavy upset as they defeated Pirates 3-2 at the Orlando stadium to book a spot in the Carling Knockout Cup quarterfinal. They made their way to the final which they also won as they pulled another upset defeating Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 to lift the trophy.

Today Pirates will be hosted at the Old Peter Mokaba stadium by Magesi who has a new technical team after coach Clinton Larsen resigned a few days ago. Former Uthongathi head coach Papi Zothwane has been promoted from being the first assistant coach to head coach while Jackie Ledwaba was also made the first assistant coach.

The red hot Pirates will be without the revitalized Tshegofatso Mabasa who netted a hat-trick in the Tuesday's 8-1 win over Marumo Gallants due to his 4th successive yellow card he received which means he is suspended for the fixture. The Buccaneers have Evidence Makgopa and Boitumelo Radiopane who can step in his absence.

The match between both Pirates and Magesi will play later on today at 15h30 South African time.
