Supersport United head coach Gavin Hunt was celebrated yesterday for reaching his 1000th top flight match as a coach. Matsatsantsa presented the coach with a 1000 match plaque in Supersport's match against Lamontville Golden Arrows where the match was also abandoned.

Stellenbosch FC also showed their gratitude on their social media platforms with a post written as follows:

"1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ top-flight matches! A remarkable milestone for a true legend of South African football."

Coach Gavin Hunt coaching career kicked off in the year 1998 where he coached Hellenic FC until 2001. He moved to Black Leopards in 2001-2002, Moroka Swallows from 2002 to 2007 then Supersport United from 2007 to 2013, Bidvest Wits from 2013 to 2020, Kaizer Chiefs from 2020 to 2021, Chippa United where he last just 5 months in 2021 after departing Kaizer Chiefs. He has now returned to Supersport United where he was appointed for his second term in 2022 until now.
