WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO KALVIN PHILLIPS AFTER THE RELEGATION OF IPSWICH?
Ipswich Town learnt their fate on Saturday evening in their 3-0 English Premier League loss to Newcastle United at St James' Park.
The club were relegated back to the EFL Championship following Leicester City FC and Southampton FC who learnt their fate in the previous weeks. All the teams that won promotion to the English Premier League last season now head to the second tier.
Ipswich made a return to English Premier League after decades of playing in lower leagues. The side made a marquee signing at the beginning of the season bringing former Leed United midfielder Kalvin Phillips on loan until the end of the season from Manchester City. Phillips failed to make an impression at the club making only 21 appearances and scoring 1 goal across all competitions since the season started. He is now sidelined due to an injury.
Since Ipswich were relegated, Phillips will not be staying on permanent basis and will have to return to City. Looking at the 29-year old's performance this season and last season at West ham United, He might not be wanted by City. What will does the future hold for the English international?
Leed United made their way back to the English Premier League last week Monday and they might consider signing him back in the new season.
