JORDAN HENDERSON JOINING SUNDERLAND IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE!

Following their promotion to the English Premier League after spending eight seasons in the EFL Championship, Sunderland AFC are closing in on the signing of their former player Jordan Henderson, who will leave Eredivisie side Ajax Amsterdam, where he just spent six months.

Henderson returned to Europe after spending the 2023/24 season and half of the 2024/25 season with Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq, joining on a €14M transfer from Liverpool.

The 34-year-old midfielder is a youth product of Sunderland, having been in their ranks from 1998 to 2008, where he broke into the senior team. He spent three seasons as a Sunderland first-team player before Liverpool snatched him on an €18M transfer in 2011.

Henderson's three-season tenure at Sunderland's first team saw him make 79 appearances across all competitions, and he could potentially add more stats should he join for a second spell.
