MONACO WANTS DE GEA, BUT FIORENTINA WANTS TO OFFER HIM A NEW DEAL!
Former Spanish international goalkeeper David de Gea was deemed a blacklisted goalkeeper after spending the whole of the 2023/24 season without a club, with Manchester United deciding against renewing his contract.
De Gea spent 12 years at United, who bought him from Atletico Madrid. He represented United in 545 games, keeping 190 clean sheets across all competitions.
Italian Serie A club ACF Fiorentina gave the 34-year-old de Gea a second chance, offering him a 1-year contract with another 1-year option when the 2024/25 season commenced. The Spaniard has gone on to make 42 appearances across all competitions, reached the semifinals of the UEFA Europa Conference League, and finished 6th in Serie A, making the cut for the Conference League again.
French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco has now shown interest in De Gea, looking to sign him next season. Fiorentina, on the other hand, is looking to offer De Gea a new, longer contract.
