South African Under 20 international Tylon Smith was confirmed by both his former club Stellenbosch FC and his new club Queens Park Rangers to have penned a deal in the United Kingdom for a first step of a lucrative move abroad.

Smith earned a first team contract late last year after he was promoted from the Stellenbosch FC DSTV Diski Challenge team where won the Diski Shield the season before last. His journey started to smooth sail as he managed to win the COSAFA under 20 with Amajita last year and the most recent under 20 Africa Cup Of Nations this year.

The 20-year old won the AFCON player of the tournament and that sent buzz around his name with teams across the world starting to show interests.

An offer from EFL Championship side Queens Park Rangers came Stellies ways and they didn't even hesitate to let the youngster complete the European move though it's rumoured that Rangers paid €300k/R6.2M to land Smith.

According to reports, when South African players get promoted from the reserve league (DDC) to the first team, their salaries range from R25k to R45k per month depending on the teams they play for. Teams like Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns are rumoured to be the forerunners paying their graduates close to R60k per month in their first seasons as first team players.

With Smith having established himself in the previous season, We would assume he was getting from that R25k to R45k. Now moving to the players wages at Queens Park Rangers, According to Capology, The lowest paid player there is Rayan Kolli with a weekly salary of £500/R12k meaning he earns £2k/R48k per month.

The highest paid player at Ranger is Steve Cook pocketing £30k/R715k per week and £120k/R2.8M per month. Our estimation as Gatti Sports Reports SA would place Tylon Smith at the earning bracket of £5k/R119k to £7k/R167k per week looking at that he is just starting to play in the EFL Championship but his earning might be revealed in a few days time.
