XHAKA JOINS SUNDERLAND!

Newly promoted Sunderland AFC have completed the signing of former Borussia Monchenglabach and Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka from Bayer Leverkusen on a £17M transfer.

Sunderland made a return to the English Premier League at the end of last season winning the promotional play-offs beating Sheffield United for a spot in the top flight.

Xhaka ditched Leverkusen where he had been for the past two seasons winning 3 major trophies under the leadership of Xabi Alonso.

The arrival of former Ajax Amsterdam and Manchester United head coach Erik Ten Hag at Leverkusen fueled Xhaka to depart the German club making his way to Sunderland.
