PIRATES NEXT STEP!

Soweto giants Orlando Pirates experienced a major upset in their remaining domestic league cup where they were eliminated from the Nedbank Cup this past weekend in the round of 16 by Motsepe Foundation Championship side Casric Stars FC who defeated them 5-4 on penalties after a 0-0 draw.


The loss to Casric was the Buccaneers second loss of the week with the first one in the Betway Premier League again Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday evening where the match ended 2-1.


Apart from the Nedbank Cup elimination, Pirates enjoyed a good start to the season with the MTN8 and Carling Knockout trophies being secured. 


The Buccaneers now only have the Betway Premier League to play for since being eliminated from the Nedbank Cup. Their next encounter is the Soweto derby this coming Saturday at the FNB stadium against Kaizer Chiefs.
